Geelani pays tribute to Tral militants | KNO

Srinagar, January 03 (KNO) : Paying tributes to slain militants who were killed in Gulshanpora area of Tral during encounter, Hurriyat Conference (G) chairman, Syed Ali Geelani on Thursday said that these brave youth are sacrificing their today for the freedom of land, while as he condemned the police action against the protestors and said that “Indian forces in one hand kill of youth and other hand use its brute force who protest against these killings.” Geelani in a statement issued to KNO said that state people are facing extreme situations and during and after these encounters the civilian populations are subjected to ‘arbitrary measures and unproportionate military might’. He also expressed his deep concern over prevailing ‘horrendous situation’ in state and said that “virtually authorities have changed state into a battle field.” “These inhuman and undemocratic acts can no longer help the oppressor to hold this territory for long and time will come when they will succumb under their own pressure and will be forced to leave this place,” he said. Saluting slain for the precious sacrifices, Geelani said that “it is stubborn attitude of India that precious lives are being snatched from already subjugated and suppressed people of occupied state.” Blaming ‘stubborn attitude’ of Indian leadership for continuous bloodshed, Hurriyat chairman said that “their denial and unconcern is the sole reason for this unabated bloodshed in Jammu and Kashmir and reiterating his stand that the UN resolutions guarantee the peaceful and amicable solution of this long standing dispute in accordance with the wishes and aspirations of people of Jammu and Kashmir.”(KNO)
